This afternoon I was in Manhattan with my wife. We were walking on 5th avenue. I was doing an email while I was walking and my wife nudged me and said look up, there is Paul McCartney.
Well, I look up and he was right in front of me. We both stopped, reach out our hands, stood about 12" apart and began to chat. He held my right hand between his two hands at chests height, I turned red. My Wife began to speak to the Lady he was with and also apologized for the interruption. I apologized to Paul for taking his time and he said it was all his pleasure. We chatted for a moment, I told him that I was slightly younger than him, and I loved him since I was a boy. He was gracious and was everything I hope he would be. I played Beatle's music from 1963 when I first heard them, and I always will.
I had tears in my eyes as a walked up 5th Avenue. I felt like a little kid again. Knowing all his music, being I guess 9 years younger than Paul, he inspired me in my music. I know every song. I must say, there would be no one I would of wanted to meet or that I admire more.

Yes it was rare and I was very surprised too. He was only with a Lady friend walking to his car. Really 50 feet.

That is some crazy stuff! I have some celeb stories from working at the Hard Rock but nothing would get me shaking unless it was a football player!

I am a not one that gets rattle by anyone. I played in a rock band as a kid and knew everyone there was. It is Just the Beatles were my core. They as a young boy inspired me. I always had Paul's parts when we covered them (vocally), He played base, I was lead.
In this case, I just looked up from my phone and he was right there!
When I was a kid we were going to do the movie Sgt. Pepper that the BEE GEE and Framton did. We got cut for bigger names. Less risk for the producers. Richie Havens got us in, but oh well.
To me he was and is the epidamy of talent as a song writer and entertainer.

Richard, How cool was that! I have met my share of celebs, even hung out with some. Lived in Manhattan for many years and never bumped into one walking down the street! Paul was very gracious to you. Nice moment!
